NZ Post’s brand new purpose-built Southern Operations hub in Christchurch houses the CourierPost and Pace express courier operations. NZ Transport and Logistics Manager Lead, Valerie Poole, oversaw the project including the new depot fit-out. The main office houses over 50 people, with the whole site increasing up to 150 during the working day.
NZ Post already had a relationship with OfficeMax for purchasing general stationery. When it came time to choose who would do the internal fit-out for the new depot, Valerie considered a few options and got quotes from various sources.
OfficeMax Business Development Manager Jane Roberts made contact with Valerie when she first heard NZ Post was building a new Christchurch depot in September 2015, when the construction project was still very much in its infancy.
OfficeMax were not really on the radar for providing an end-to-end furniture solution, however Valerie did eventually agree to see a quote, which involved concept design and the relationship developed from there.
Jane was very confident in the OfficeMax brand and the solution they could provide NZ Post in a very competitive market.
In the end, Valerie felt her decision was an easy one; OfficeMax had competitive pricing and offered the furniture and range that most appealed to her and the NZ Post team. As a result, Valerie made the call over a year after Jane first got in touch to proceed with OfficeMax for the complete office fit-out.
